Latest Tidbit About Desmond via TV Guide
Thanks to TV Guide's Natalie Abrams for the following tidbit:
Will we find out whether Desmond was really on the plane on the season premiere of Lost? — Carrie
MICKEY: "We will answer that question very shortly in the show," executive producer Carlton Cuse tells us. "It will absolutely be clear whether he was on the plane or not." Does this help? We're also hearing that the next time Desmond appears, which might not be for a while, it'll be with Penny at his side.

Thanks to Alienware for the heads up.
What the heck was Desmond doing on that plane? Any idea where the Lost powers that be are going with this? — Nora
MICKEY: I have some idea. If you'll recall, our friend Des has certain abilities that can supersede the time-space continuum. Is he really on that plane? When we pumped Henry Ian Cusick for scoop at the premiere in Hawaii, he would only say that off the island, Desmond is not happy. "The motivation has always been to get to Penny, and now he's got something slightly different. It's not about him, he's being more selfless. He's trying to help everyone," Cusick says

LOST Season 6 - Casting Update - Penny will Return
LOST Season 6 - Casting Update - Penny will Return
When you visited the ‘FlashForward’ set, did you ask Sonya Walger if she would be returning to ‘Lost’? I can’t see them ending the show without some resolution for Penny and Desmond. – Steven
‘Yes, you will see Penny again,” Walger confirmed, even though, she noted, that storyline has been “fairly well wrapped up” and even Henry Ian Cusick failed to score a spot on the final season’s cast of regulars. Walger though is “absolutely delighted” to offer up an extra bit of closure, saying, “I loved playing Penny and they’ve written wonderful stuff for me to do, historically, so I’d be sad not to go and sign her out.”

New Sonya Walger Interview
New Sonya Walger Interview
TVGuide.com: All right, when are you returning to Lost?
Sonya Walger: No idea. Not a clue. I don't even know if I'm in the last season.
TVGuide.com: Do you think Penny should die in the end?
Walger: Are you saying in a sacrificial way, Penny needs to die? I hope not because Penny's so great. There would be mass outcry, but you know what, they killed off Charlie, so anything can happen. I feel like her dad should be the one to bite it. I am not kidding.
TVGuide.com: Were you nervous about joining another mythology-heavy show?
Walger: No, not at all. It's funny, I didn't even think of Lost when I read that script. It sounds bizarre or naïve, but I really didn't. I read the script and I was so excited by the writing and by this character, by this woman who is complicated and says 'I hate you' to her husband when she means 'I love you.' She's a professional and a surgeon and a mother. I didn't see any similarities to Lost. I honestly still don't. I see them as big shows that have one big exciting event, the catalyst that gets it all going with an ensemble cast. I see that, but after that they just part ways. There isn't a mythology to FlashForward in the same way. There's not codes to decipher ... There's not islands moving and polar bears and smoke monsters, that's not in our show ... yet anyway.
TVGuide.com: Did you ever work with Dominic Monaghan on Lost?
Walger: This is the joke of me being a part of Lost, I haven't met three-quarters of that cast. I'm not kidding. I would be as star-struck as you would be if I met Matthew Fox. I actually only met Dominic on a photo shoot for FlashForward — that was the first time we met. He comes into play in quite a significant way in this show. I can't really tell you anymore than that. He's a good part of it.

We Have NOT Seen the Last of Desmond or Penny
According to Zap2It's Korbi Ghosh, we have not see the last of either Desmond or Penny.
Here is her post:
Lost!!! Last night was awesome. Easter egg for you: Sixth episode of the season, the Oceanic 6 make it back to the Island. One question. Where is Desmond? Will we see him again soon? -Chaz
Faraday's mommy wasn't lying. The Island is not done with Des. Question for you... Think Ben successfully tied up the loose end that got him all bloody pre-plane flight? I'll only say this: We haven't seen the last of Penny either.

NOTE: Transcript below
Thanks to T.L.A for the transcript
Desmond: Beyond where you can see, there's an island. And it's a very special island. I left it a long time ago..never thought I'd see it again. It's called Great Britain. And the most beautiful part of the island is Scotland. And that's where your daddy's from. There's mountains and glens and monsters and deep lochs and...it's where your mummy and daddy fell in love.
Penny: It's also where he broke her heart.
Desmond: Yeah well, I thought I'd leave a wee bit out.
Penny: You also left out the bit about his grandfather. The man who sent a boat to the island to kill all daddy's friends.
Desmond: We'll be in and out. He'll never know we're here Penny.
Penny: Don't underestimate him Desmond. If he finds out we're here, I don't know what he'll do.
Desmond: This has nothing to do with your father Penny. We are here because of Daniel Faraday. He told me that everyone on that island is in danger and I'm the only one that can help them. I have to do this Penny.
POLL: What is the Best S5 Spoiler Revealed So Far!?
Posted by

on Monday, January 19, 2009
Hey All,
This past week I have recorded several segments for a couple podcasts about spoilers for Season 5 and I realized that we have so MANY good spoilers this season!! Thanks to all of our contributors and sources!!
In a recent interview I was asked what my favorite/best/biggest reveal for Season 5!? I really did not know how to answer it, but I eventually settled on getting the confirmation that the Island does indeed travel through time.
So it got me thinking as far as what all of you out there think!? So I chatted with Dark and we complied this little poll. It was hard even to get to just this list of 10, so I added an "Other" selection.
So what do you think it the Best Spoiler of Season 5 so far!?
Since many of you are picking and choosing what spoilers you read this season I am posting the poll behind a button just in case.
So beware of potential Major Spoilers in poll.

Hey All,
Ausiello from EW happened to be at the LOST TCA panel where Episode 5x03 Jughead was screened for the media.
I believe this is the episode where we will see Desmond and Penny have a baby boy and few really interesting new details were revealed
1) Jin is a series regular and we will see him
2) Nestor Carbonell (Alpert) is signed until the end of Season 6!!
3) We will learn the purpose of the 4-Toed statue, basically there for it's historical reference.
4) Another confirmation that we will see a bunch of Sawyer this season
Here is the live blog report from EW:
4:01 pm/EST: Team Darlton's in the house taking our questions!
(Episode 3 spoiler: Someone gives birth in the opening minutes!)
4:02 pm: We will be seeing a "lot more" of Nestor Carbonell (Richard Alpert) this season. Also, Nestor does not wear eyeliner on the show, Darlton insists! Stop the presses!!
4:07 pm: When Cane was axed, Darlton immediately stepped in and "secured [Nestor's] services" until the end of Season 6.
4:11 pm: Are they concerned that all the time travel this season will leave viewers, ahem, lost? "Time travel has been in the show's DNA from the beginning," says Lindelof. "The audience is prepared to go on that journey with us."
(Episode 3 spoiler: A male character poses this question to another male character: "I assume you've come back for the bomb.")
4:14 pm: "Sawyer has a lot to do this year," says Cuse. Adds Lindelof: "A lot of the focus was on the Oceanic Six last year... this year we tried to make up for lost time [with Sawyer]. Josh has been doing amazing work."
4:17 pm: "As we get deeper into the season," Cuse teases, "you're going to learn a lot more about the island's history."
(Episode 3 spoiler: A male character makes this shocking declaration: "Because I am in love with the woman sitting next to me.")
4:20 pm: The purpose of the four-toed statue is revealed: Cuse says it was there simply to illustrate the island's long and rich history.
4:22 pm: "If the first episode of Lost you see is the premiere of season 5," says Lindelof, "you most likely won't understand the majority of it."
4:24 pm: Lost currently has 14 series regulars, Lindelof reveals, adding that the rough economic climate has forced them to "kill off five" this season. (He's kidding! I think!)
(Episode 3 spoiler: Someone -- or something -- called Jughead plays a pivotal role.)
4:28 pm: Cuse confirms that "you'll definitely see Jin this season... He's a series regular."
4:29 pm: Although Claire has been benched this season, she will be back for season 6.
4:30 pm: Darlton chose to spread the last 48 episodes over three seasons, as opposed to just two. "That was our choice," he says. "We calculated how many episodes" it would take to adequately tell the story of Lost.
(Episode 3 spoiler: Someone says, "You're in my life now -- you and Charlie.")
4:31 pm: The session is brought to an end after only 25 minutes! Totally bogus! Just for that, I was going to bank this next episode 3 spoiler for Wednesday's Ask Ausiello, but I'm giving it to you guys now: At the end of the episode, a significant character dies. I think.

Two new LOST Season 5 Promos have been released by ABC. The first one has a couple of new scenes, one with Desmond telling Penny everyone on that island is in danger and then Alpert telling Locke that the only way to save the island is to get your people back here.
The second promo has more scenes from Season 4 and is mainly for the romance fans and has The Fray song.
Thanks to Carlost for the heads up.
Enjoy!!

Another Short Season 5 Promo - Risk Everything!
Hey All,
Looks like ABC is letting it all out, here is another short LOST Season 5 Promo (Risk Everything) and it has a couple of new scenes that are not in the Extended Fray promos.
This is the promo where you hear Penny yelling out to Desmond and asking him where he is going...??
Thanks to Vid for the heads up!!
Enjoy!

LOST Season 5 Death Watch and My Thoughts

Unfortunately, it is that time of year again and I personally hate posting things like this, but it is inevitable with this show. Yup, that is right once again death will be a part of season 5 and we have the short list of who will die in the first 5 episodes of the season.
Well our good friend DarkUFO has posted a poll with 8 potential characters that could meet with death in the first 5 episodes of season 5 and I am not happy with this list at all. I think this is the first time I can say that I will be quite angry if ANY of these characters were to leave the show.
Of course, someone dying does not mean they will leave the show, but that does mean we will see less of them and honestly I want to see more of EACH of these characters.
Here is my take on each and note the odds I have placed next to each name:
Juliet (75 to 1)- Yes, I know since Juliet was introduced many fans have disliked her character, but she is a great actress and added a great new element of the show when she was introduced in Season 3. I have always expected her to die before the end of the show, but I can not see it happening before she meets Jack again and she is now one of the top two beachies along with Sawyer. BTW she is beautiful and the show needs that beauty on the beach.
Rose (3 to 1) - Is it possible that the lovably and VERY popular Rose will be the one to die this season?? I would hate to see this happen, because she is one of the original cast members that seemed to really grow on fans so much that we were able to get a backstory of her and everyone's favorite dentist Bernard. Unfortunately I really feel based on the list, Rose could be the character that will actually be the one to die. WHY!? Yes, she is hardly shown as is, but how does it move the story forward you ask?? Well maybe with the island "moving" is it possible that the "healing" qualities change as well?? Plus, I remember reading something about some conflicting schedules with L. Scott Caldwell's schedule.
Sawyer (100 to 1) - Once again here is another character that I really like and actually do expect to die before the series ends, but now is NOT his time. There is no way the writers kill off Sawyer before meeting Kate again and I can not see how that would happen in the first 5 episodes. So fangirls can relax a little, but just imagine if they did kill him..!?
Miles (20 to 1) - Initially I was not really down with this character. However, as Season 4 continued, his character really grew on me and by the time the season ended I loved Miles and his humor. Also, I always felt that each of the freighties served some purpose and there was a reason why they were on the island in the first place. We already know Faraday's Constant is Desmond and will be a big part of Season 5. So with Miles' ability to hear the dead, I always felt his character would be the key to open the door to the Whispers and maybe solve the mystery of Jacob. Plus, he could maybe be able to explain how other characters see the dead on the island.
Charlotte (6 to 1) - Once again another member of the freighter that I feel has a purpose and well we learned part of that purpose in the Season 4 finale. Charlotte is looking for her birthplace. Is that a good enough story to keep he on the show, probably not, but lets not forget her discovery of the Polar Bear skeleton in Tunisia and well with ben landing in Tunisia after turning the frozen donkey wheel, I have a feeling that Charlotte will be around a little longer than 5 episodes. BTW, like Juliet she is beautiful!! Not to mention we still have to have that Daniel Charlotte reunion.
Penny (2 to 1) - Oh god there is NOOOO way right!? How can the LOST producers be soooo cruel to Desmond!? The guy was stuck on the island for years only to finally get back with his long lost love at the end of Season 4. It would seem almost impossible that the writers would want to kill her in the first 5 episodes of season 5!? Right!? Well unfortunately the recent MAJOR spoilers about Desmond and Penny having a baby and her being in MAJOR pain during the birth does not bode well for Des and Pen. Honestly one of my favorite couples on the show is Desmond and Penny and I would hate to see the writers break them up again. However, Ben did promise to Widmore that he would get his revenge.
Richard (25 to 1) - No no no! The ageless Maybeline man is not going any where. How can this guy survive for 400 plus years and then die now!? How would this even fit the storyline. Him and Locke have to be a big part of the season. IDK, maybe he dies and Locke becomes the true leader of the Others and well Ghost Richard might help Locke in his mission. Heck, for all we know Richard might already be dead and we will see how he died. I guess that would explain how he is still alive after all these years.
Frank (15 to 1) - Boy, here is another actor I love in Jeff Fahey. Last year when the casting for all the Freighter Folk was announced, Fahey was the one I was MOST excited about. He is the lawnmower man and he has been awesome in the show so far. The writers have promised a big role for Lapidus this season so could they really accomplish that in the first 5 episodes!? Of all of the characters on the list, it seems like Lapidus has the smallest role to play in the over all storyline, but I always felt he would be the one to help the Oceanic 6 and Ben return to the island. After all he was the pilot that was able to fly to and from the island via that special bearing. So maybe they kill him so he can not fly back, but it would not make sense they would do that so early in the season.
So there you have it!! I can not see how any of these can really die, but if I had to pick it would be between Rose, Penny or Charlotte and I think I would have to vote for Penny purely based on the new spoilers.
Well please let us know what you think and make sure you check out DarkUFO to vote on the poll and join the fan discussion there.
Namaste.
New Details about Desmond, Penny and Ben!!
Our good friend DarkUFO was able to score some nice new spoilers for Season 5 of LOST and they about some of my favorite characters in the show, Desmond, Penny and Ben!!
The spoilers stem from last week's filming about Desmond looking for a doctor and rumors that Des and Pen are having a baby. Well guess what it is true they are and Ben is hot on their trail.
It seems like the Ben/Battle will be a big storyline during season 5 and I guess it gives Ben something to do.
Here are the details:
I have some nice exclusive spoilers for you all today from one of my new sources called Kronos and deals with the recent Desmond, Penny and Ben filming.
1) There are no flashbacks or flashforwards, and it is very linear like a normal television episode.
2) Desmond and Penny have been flying under the radar for awhile and they're having a kid.
3) They move around every few months and in this episode they are in a city named Mati.
4) Ben is hot on their trail.
5) Ben Tortures someone from the Widmore Group
6) We find out that there are a handful of Dharma stations located throughout the world. They are not just on the island.

Set Video
Hey Losties,
Well here is out first solid set video of Henry Ian Cusick (Desmond) filming for Episode 5x03. Last week we posted a report from Ryan that Desmond was looking for a doctor named Solanga (which was confirmed via a previous casting call).
Well today's set video shows Desmond with someone (most likely the doctor) running back to his boat and shouting "Penny we're here...!!".
This confirms some fan theories that Penny was the one in need of the doctor. Of course there is no confirmation, but is it possible Penny gets the sickness or is pregnant...!?
Well here is the video which itself is quite funny because of the folks that took it.
Watch it before it is removed!!
Thanks to DarkUFO for the heads up!!

**UPDATED** 8:30PM PST As suspected tonight's promo hints at a potential kiss between Kate and Sawyer and I would like to say I can confirm that the "spectacular kiss" is indeed between Sawyer and Kate.
I do not have confirmation to reveal this information from my source, but I do NOT want to dangle all of you wonderful fans that have been so patient over the last 24 hours...!! I thought I could continue this wonderful game, but it has been fun. Enjoy the moment Sawyer and Kate fans, just please do me a favor all visit the rest of the site we have posted SEVERAL screencaps of tonight's episode on the front page of the site.

**UPDATED** 6:30PM PST - Poll 4 Added My personal guess was Sawyer and Ghost Claire kissing because she wanted to thank him for saving Aaron, but I was wrong...!! Down to 4 choices and I will remove more couple later.
**UPDATED** 1:30PM PST - Poll 3 Added Thanks for being patient. Sorry to all that voted for Claire and Aaron. It would be a nice moment but they are not the ones. I will hopefully update once before the episode airs tonight. So keep checking back for updates. :)
**UPDATE** 9AM PST - Poll 2 added. Thanks for everyone participating and I wish I could honestly tell you all right now, but I can't. I appreciate you all joining in on the fun. With that, I have to say sorry to the Jack and Juliet fans, it is not these two. I know there are several of out there still holding on to some hope and maybe one day your dreams will come true.
NOTE: It was really late/early and not adding Sun and Jin to the labels was just an oversight.
Hey Losties and Shippers...
Well for weeks now you have allll been wondering who that rumored "spectacular" kiss is between. We have seen several shipper "wars" and heated debates about this kiss and well I am here to help solve your problems.
Thanks to one of my sources, I have been able to confirm who the kiss is between. Plus, judging from the comments and emails I have recieved, I know many of you out there do NOT want to read the full synopsis that will be posted by DarkUFO in the next few days to find out. So as I promised to those that have emailed me, I will reveal it to you all here on my site. However, my source says I can not reveal this information yet. It could be as early as Friday or sometime over the weekend.
I guess it will depend on the voting in the poll and how it goes.
So in the meantime here is a poll where you can voice your opinion on who you think the kiss will be between. I will then remove one couple from the poll and post a NEW poll over the next day or so, until I will reveal who the kiss will be between.
I can reveal the kiss will NOT take place tonight and will take place in Part 2 of the finale two weeks from tonight. However, please do NOT email me for more information as to why or how the kiss takes place. Also, there is NO set time when I will remove a couple, because I will do it at random times, so keep checking back for updates.
Let this be the final shipper war for Season 4!!!
Thanks for stopping by and namaste.
