Episode 6x03 - Kate Centric Confirmed (UPDATE)

UPDATE: Ausiello made a mistake and we have confirmed that Episode 6x03 is indeed Kate Centric NOT Episode 6x06

According to Ausiello from EW it seems like we will get some Kate Centric action this season in Episode 6x06. Of course, the Kate episodes always seem to be the least liked episodes among fans, so it will be interesting to see how this episode holds up against other episodes.

Here is the full post from Ausiello:

Question: Lost scoop?! —Jarrod
Ausiello: Grab your season 6 scorecards and in the box next to episode 6 write, “Kate-centric.”

Michael Emerson Talks About Season 6

Anyways do you have any more Lost scoop? --Erick

Ausiello: May's series finale is going to be a real downer, predicts Michael Emerson. "I don't think Lost will have a happy ending," he confessed to us at the Saturn Awards. "It's the end and I think we are going to start seeing more casualties. I would put money on major characters being killed. I believe it will be a sad ending to the show -- or at least bittersweet. I think it will definitely be a series finale for grownups." Emerson, meanwhile, is still trying to make sense of the season 5 finale. (Join the club!) "I killed Jacob... maybe... probably," he hedged. "It isn't like we haven't seen plenty of other people be killed and somehow come back. And what does it mean if I did kill him? I Who the hell was he anyway? Obviously, Ben wanted a father. So much of our show is about bad fathers. It is one of our biggest themes. And Jacob disappointed in those final moments. And maybe Jacob made it easy for him. Maybe that was all meant to happen. Is it all ordained? Maybe. And for that matter, can Jacob even be killed? Stay tuned is my response."

Latest from Ausiello

Thanks to NoOne for the heads up.

Question: I'm pretty sure I saw you at the Renegade Craft Fair in Brooklyn last weekend. You're even cuter in person! With that said, can you give me anything on Lost? --Sean
Ausiello: I was hoping I'd have an excuse to run this question, and my prayers were answered last night when this piece of scoop fell in my lap: Contrary to what a loose-lipped agency assistant Twittered yesterday, no deals are in place for any season 1 Lost alums to return for the show's sixth and final season. That said, I can confirm that Team Darlton is checking the availability of several MVPs. My guess: We'll get the official scoop on who's returning at Comic-Con next month.

LOST Producers Confirm Return of Claire in Season 6

Ok for most of you that have kept up to speed on all the spoilers, the return of Claire is not too shocking, but it is good to hear that LOST producers confirm once again the Emilie De Ravin will return as a "Series regular" in Season 6!!

So for all of you Claire fans that have been waiting for her patiently, well guess what just about another 8 months and you will finally get to see a good deal of her again.

Thanks to Ausiello from EW for the tidbit where you can find some theories on how she might return.

So what do you think!?

Latest Spoilers About Season 6

Ausiello from EW provided us all with a couple of new tidbits about Season 6 including a hint by Darlton about the end of the show and that he feels Elizabeth Mitchell will only appear in two episodes.

Here you go:

Question: This is probably a long shot, but got any Lost scoop? --Jeff

Ausiello: Yeah, having Lost scoop in late May is about as unlikely as me combing through my old transcripts and finding an unused Damon Lindelof quote pertaining to the show's series finale. OMG, looky here: "We’ve been planning out the final season for four years now. And of all the talks we have had about the show, [reuniting all the castaways] is the subject that has come up the most. The ending was almost where we began, and we had to figure out how to get there. It's like a wedding where the reception is the part that requires the most planning and is the most fun to plan. We've exchanged our vows and I am ready to go party."

Question: Realistically, how many episodes of Lost do you think Elizabeth Mitchell will be in next year? --Derek

Ausiello: My gut is telling me we'll see her in two episodes max. But my gut has been wrong before. Oh, who am I kidding, no it hasn't.

Elizabeth Mitchell Will Not be Series Regular in Season 6

Here are the latest details about Elizabeth Mitchell and her character Juliet and if we will see her again. To be honest I think the writers left it open to see how well her new show V does, but here is Ausiello's take:

And now for some news that should surprise no one: ABC is expected to announce tomorrow that it has picked up a reboot of the camptastic '80s thriller V and that Lost heroine Elizabeth Mitchell is a full-time castmember.

Translation: She will not be returning to Lost as a series regular.

However, before you go declaring Juliet DOA from last week's detonated hydrogen bomb, I should point out that this piece of scoop comes with a big but attached: Mitchell's Lost days are not done. Multiple sources confirm that the actress is expected to appear in an unspecified number of episodes next season, so it's entirely possible Juliet survived Jughead and her absence will be explained in another way. (Check out Doc Jensen's column this Wednesday for a comprehensive Juliet theorypalooza.)

Episode 5x16/17 - Details of Potential Wedding

An ABC insider confirms that Lost will begin filming a wedding ceremony later today that is slated to air during the show's two-hour finale on May 13. Who's getting hitched? Here are a pair of clues: Actors of Asian-American descent are being sought to play extras, and the wedding will take place on the mainland, not the island. That pretty much rules out Jack/Kate or Sawyer/Juliet. "One theory is that it's a flashback to Sun and Jin's wedding," whispers a Lost insider. "But the wild rumor is that Sun and Jin's daughter will marry Aaron in the future."

Casting Update from Ausiello

Hey All,
Ausiello with EW provided us with a little casting update, confirming that Brad Henke will be joining the cast and is connected to Ilana.

Brad Henke on IMDB

Here is complete post:

Question: I'm borderline crazy addicted to Lost, and would very much [twitch] appreciate a scoop on any recent news [twitch]! -- CJ

Ausiello: Listen up, Crazy: In last week's AA, I told you that Team Darlton had been quietly searching for a "younger Phillip Seymour Hoffman-type" for a multi-episode arc this season. Well, in this week's AA, I'm telling you who they got: October Road's Brad Henke. I can't say much about his character, except that he has ties to the mysterious Ilana.

Ausiello - Sawyer Makes Out and Casting News

Hey All,
Here is the latest from EW's Ausiello, I sense several comments about who Sawyer might kiss??

There is also an interesting casting tidbit for a recurring role which Jeff Jensen speculates could be Jacob?

Enjoy!

Question: Lost? Anything? -- Bia

Ausiello: Sawyer and a female character whose name isn't Kate will make out this season.

Question: Tonight's the night! Lost returns! I think that calls for some exclusive scoop! -- Sam

Ausiello: You'll get no argument from me! A Lost insider tells me that Team Darlton is very quietly looking for an actor to play a "younger Phillip Seymour Hoffman-type" for a smallish arc this season, and a much bigger one next. What does it all mean, Doc Jensen? "My guess is they want the Phillip Seymour Hoffman from Synecdoche, New York, because thematically, that trippy movie is very simpatico with Lost. I'm thinking he's some kind of Dharma mastermind, or maybe Jacob -- the true man behind the curtain directing the crazy stage play that is Lost." Once again, he took the words right out of my mouth! Speaking of Lost, I implore you to check out our award-worthy "Totally Lost" section, featuring (among other things) Doc J's exclusive, multi-part video Q&A with Team Darlton.

Episode 5x03 Screened at TCA and More

Hey All,
Ausiello from EW happened to be at the LOST TCA panel where Episode 5x03 Jughead was screened for the media.

I believe this is the episode where we will see Desmond and Penny have a baby boy and few really interesting new details were revealed

1) Jin is a series regular and we will see him
2) Nestor Carbonell (Alpert) is signed until the end of Season 6!!
3) We will learn the purpose of the 4-Toed statue, basically there for it's historical reference.
4) Another confirmation that we will see a bunch of Sawyer this season

Here is the live blog report from EW:

4:01 pm/EST: Team Darlton's in the house taking our questions!

(Episode 3 spoiler: Someone gives birth in the opening minutes!)

4:02 pm: We will be seeing a "lot more" of Nestor Carbonell (Richard Alpert) this season. Also, Nestor does not wear eyeliner on the show, Darlton insists! Stop the presses!!

4:07 pm: When Cane was axed, Darlton immediately stepped in and "secured [Nestor's] services" until the end of Season 6.

4:11 pm: Are they concerned that all the time travel this season will leave viewers, ahem, lost? "Time travel has been in the show's DNA from the beginning," says Lindelof. "The audience is prepared to go on that journey with us."

(Episode 3 spoiler: A male character poses this question to another male character: "I assume you've come back for the bomb.")

4:14 pm: "Sawyer has a lot to do this year," says Cuse. Adds Lindelof: "A lot of the focus was on the Oceanic Six last year... this year we tried to make up for lost time [with Sawyer]. Josh has been doing amazing work."

4:17 pm: "As we get deeper into the season," Cuse teases, "you're going to learn a lot more about the island's history."

(Episode 3 spoiler: A male character makes this shocking declaration: "Because I am in love with the woman sitting next to me.")

4:20 pm: The purpose of the four-toed statue is revealed: Cuse says it was there simply to illustrate the island's long and rich history.

4:22 pm: "If the first episode of Lost you see is the premiere of season 5," says Lindelof, "you most likely won't understand the majority of it."

4:24 pm: Lost currently has 14 series regulars, Lindelof reveals, adding that the rough economic climate has forced them to "kill off five" this season. (He's kidding! I think!)

(Episode 3 spoiler: Someone -- or something -- called Jughead plays a pivotal role.)

4:28 pm: Cuse confirms that "you'll definitely see Jin this season... He's a series regular."

4:29 pm: Although Claire has been benched this season, she will be back for season 6.

4:30 pm: Darlton chose to spread the last 48 episodes over three seasons, as opposed to just two. "That was our choice," he says. "We calculated how many episodes" it would take to adequately tell the story of Lost.

(Episode 3 spoiler: Someone says, "You're in my life now -- you and Charlie.")

4:31 pm: The session is brought to an end after only 25 minutes! Totally bogus! Just for that, I was going to bank this next episode 3 spoiler for Wednesday's Ask Ausiello, but I'm giving it to you guys now: At the end of the episode, a significant character dies. I think.

Latest from Ausiello - Update About Charlotte

As most of you know, Charlotte is seen with a nosebleed in promos and in some angles it even seems like she is passed out.

Well when Ausiello from EW was asked about a major character death he said that he does not know of any, but that a "female cast-member isn't long for this world." He confirms that this character recently signed a Hollywood movie and that means it probably does not look to good as well.

Of course he is talking about Charlotte, but I have no idea if he is saying she might die!?

What do you all think?

Episode 5x07 - 316 - Jack's Grandfather to Appear

Hey All,
According to EW's Ausiello we will meet Jack's grandfather for the first time in Episode 5x07 316 and he will be played by actor Raymond J. Barry.

Based on a previous casting call there was character in his 70s by the name of Hal who supposedly "an still fight the establishment and win".

No other details are known, but here is a link for Barry's IMDB profile.

More Jin News and Hurley in Jail!?

Hey All,
Yesterday we posted some news that we would not find out about Jin's fate until Episode 5x04. Well today, we get another little detail from EW's Ausiello that the On-Island Losties will discover the fate of Jin all together in the fourth episode.

Additionally Ausiello confirmed that Hurley will be seen in a jail scene.

Here is the post:

Question: I don't know if I can wait until January or February for Lost. Got any scoop on it? -- Nick

Ausiello: Sawyer, Juliet, Daniel, Miles, Charlotte, and ***** will learn Jin's fate at the precise moment we do: In episode 4. In other news, ask yourself this question: Why was Jorge Garcia shooting a scene in jail last week?

Latest from Ausiello - Update on Claire

Here is the latest tidbit from EW's Ausiello who followed up the spoiler about Claire not appearing in Season 5 to confirm that she will definitely be returning at some point.

Ausiello spoke to LOST Producer Damon Lindelof after the Emmys who confirmed that it is all part of the "grand plan".

Here you go:

Question: Thanks for the interview with Emilie de Ravin, but do you know for SURE that Claire will be back for Lost's sixth and final season? I'm suspicious. -- Devon

Ausiello: I was too, but then I asked executive producer Carlton Cuse and he put my mind at ease. "Claire is a wonderful part of the show and the audience can rest assured that they will see [her] again on Lost," Cuse told me Sunday night at the Governor's Ball. "It's just all part of Damon and my grand plan for how the story is going to be best told. And we don't want someone to be on the show and not be serviced well. The story that we're telling this year is going in some other directions, but we'll circle back around to include Emilie we think in a very exciting way."

Latest LOST Spoilers from Ausiello

Well today has been a nice day of spoilers and EW's Ausiello has jumped into the mix with his latest post, which provides us with some new casting information and a new Astrix game about what makes the Oceanic 6 return to the island this season.

The casting information is about a character by the name of Martha, which Ausiello speculates could be connected to the woman in Dr. Candle's recent Dharma video??

Here is his post:

Question: Any new information on Lost? I know they start filming pretty soon, and you're good for the spoiler stuff, so hit us up brother. -- Joseph Robertson

Ausiello: Soon? Try two days ago. Production on season 5 got underway on Monday, and among the many new characters we'll meet in the first ep will be an attractive Asian woman named Martha. She's a smart, capable scientist who's taking a break to raise her baby. Paging Doc Jensen….Doc Jensen to Ask Ausiello, STAT…. "At Comic-Con, Cuselof screened a new Dharma video featuring Dr. Marvin Candle, in which he reveals his true name (Pierre Chang) and claims he's sending a message from 30 years in the past to our present moment. During the video, we hear a baby crying, and Chang stands up at one point to tell someone off screen to shush the baby up. Could Martha be Candle/Chang's wife? And if she is, that means her name is likely "Martha Chang." Which means she shares a name with Martha Chang, producer of such kids movies as 3 Ninjas and Galgameth, the story of a boy and his dragon." Thanks, Doc! Paging two extra strength Advil…. Two extra strength Advil to Ask Ausiello, STAT….

Question: Do you know what prompts the Oceanic Five to return to the island this season on Lost? --Gary

Ausiello: I'm told there are a whole host of reasons, not the least of which involves * ****** ****** ******* ** ****** *****. Or so I hear.

Season 5 Casting Call - Two New Recurring Characters

Well it is that time Losties!!

Production on Season 5 of LOST is right around the corner (august 17th) and that means we will start getting spoilers!!

Here is first of I am sure many little casting and productions updates for this new season.

SAM@DarkUFO was the first to report about the two new characters and the casting info for Season 5 (and potentially season 6).

However, Ausiello was able to add on some more details including names (Ceaser and Ilanna).

Both characters are supposed to be smart and dangerous, so are they a part of Dharma or perhaps Widmore's crew or something completely different??

Here are the details:

They begin shooting #501 on Aug. 17th. A couple new recurring characters, who may be regulars in season 6. A 40ish dangerous, intelligent man whose intentions are unclear (really? on this show?) and a 30ish charming, brilliant and dangerous European woman with a dark, mysterious past.

Source: Secretagentman

Production on Lost's fifth season gets underway in 12 days, so that can only mean one thing: Fresh intel is starting to pour in!

Sources confirm that Team Darlton is looking to introduce two new characters this season – and they're both as mysterious as they are lethal. They're also coming in as recurring players with an option to become series regulars in Season 6.

First up is Casear, a dangerous, physical and extremely intelligent male between the ages of 35 and 45. Although his intentions are unclear, this much is certain: he's as skillful at charming people as he is at killing them. He also has a dark past, but, c'mon, that much was a given.

The other newbie is Ilanna, a European female in her late 20s to early 30s who possesses great intelligence, but who's also dangerous as all get out. She's alluring and apparently used to getting her own way.

Casting for both roles is just now getting started, so feel free to use the comments section below to state your case for a particular actor/actress.

Ausiello Sums up LOST Comic Con Spoilers

Kind of interesting that there are people out there that would admit they are too lazy to actually use Google or visit fansites to read the Comic Con reports that have already been posted.

Well here is a good summary of spoilers for Season 5 from BOTH the EW Panel and LOST panels.

You can watch the EW Panel here and read the live report for the LOST panel here

OR

Just read this little recap:

Question: I didn't attend Comic-Con and I'm too lazy to scour the web looking for a transcript of the Lost panel, so whaddaya say you save me the trouble and give me a quick rundown of the major Lost spoilers that Team Darlton revealed? — Nicole

Ausiello: Unfortunately, I'm even lazier than you, so I wouldn't touch that assignment with a 10-foot pole. I would, however, email EW's Doc Jensen (who moderated said Lost panel) and kindly ask him to do it for both of us. Below are what he considers to be the major takeaways, bullet-pointed for your convenience.

• Richard Alpert will figure prominently in Season 5.
• The whole notion of "flashbacks" and "flash-forwards" will be reinvented, suggesting that upcoming episodes will span multiple time periods and perspectives.
• Jin will be back, but there's no word if he's dead or alive.
• It was strongly suggested that Faraday survived.
• Faraday's notebook will play a prominent role this season.
• We'll finally get Rousseau's back-story, but Darlton cautioned that it would be wrong to call it a "flashback" episode.

Episode 4x12/13 - A Kiss to Stop Time and More Blood and Death!?

Here is the latest from TV Guide's Ausiello about the Season 4 finale of LOST. Ausiello says the "spectacular kiss" will stop time and make the world disappear for a moment!? Plus, he also mentions that the last two hours we will see more blood and a "significant" death.

Wow so the "kiss" that has been reported has something to do with the time factor on the show!? Plus, it seems like once AGAIN we will have to see another character face death!?

Question: Ausiello, last year you rode in on a white steed and gave us crucial info about the Lost finale. Can you be our hero again this season and give us more on the "spectacular kiss"? — Beth

Ausiello: It seems Darlton was holding out on us. Not only is the kiss spectacular, but according to a very solid source, it's the kind of liplock that "stops f---ing time" and "makes the entire world vanish in the moment."

Question: No. Lost. Scoop. In. Last. Week's. AA. Help. — David and Pam

Ausiello: There's a fair amount of blood shed in next week's two-hour capper. And there's at least one significant death.

Episode 4x11 Cabin Fever - Historic Event

Here is a little tidbit of from TV Guide's Ausiello who misspoke last week about Alpert's appearance on May 1st. Yes, we knew he meant May 8th and the historic event he mentions, I assume is about Locke's birth.

What do you all think??

Thanks to Sarah and everyone else for the heads up.

Question: In last week's Ask Ausiello, you said Nestor Carbonell would be appearing in Locke's flashback episode of Lost on May 1. Did you mean May 8? — Craig

Ausiello: Sure did! Sorry for any confusion that caused. Let me make it up to you with some scoop: In the same episode — in a flashback scene that perhaps represents the narrative device's greatest leap in time so far on the series — we'll bear witness to a historic event that has significant repercussions on "present-day" events on the island.
