Daniel Dae Kim Confirms if We Will Sun and Jin Again

New Interview with Yunjin Kim via TV Guide

Thanks to our good friend Natalie Abrams from TV Guide for the heads up.

Episode 6x13 - New Short Promo

Here is another promo for next week's episode 6x13 The Last Recruit, saying this will have the greatest reunion of all.

Thanks to SycloneFX

Latest Tidbit via TV Guide - April 14th

Do you think Lost's sideways timeline occurs concurrent with island events or after? — Barry

MICKEY: It's a good question, Barry. When we were chatting with Yunjin Kim about Jin's newfound fertility in the sideways timeline, call us crazy, but we think she revealed something. "Obviously Jin was infertile on the island, but in the flash-sideways he's perfectly healthy," she says. "I don't know if that's because we spent time on the island, even though it's a different lifeline, and the island cured his infertility, therefore in the flash-sideways he's completely healthy. That's what I assumed when I read the script." Sounds like sideways is after, no?

Latest from TV Guide - Which Kwon Is a Candidate?

Lost can't help but toy with fans' emotions. After several long seasons of Sun (Yunjin Kim) and Jin (Daniel Dae Kim) being separated, the two finally reunited, albeit in the sideways universe. Now the question is: Which Kwon is the important Kwon? Could the maker of the Dharma maps be the next candidate? Or is it the mother of Ji Yeon? Or is it Ji Yeon herself?

Dae Kim addresses these questions in this week's Getting Lost:

Daniel Dae Kim - Interview with TV Guide

Thanks to TV Guide's Natalie Abrams for this interview.

After Tuesday night's Sun-centric (Yunjin Kim) and Jin-centric episode of Lost, many viewers are wondering if Sun is not long for this world, or the other world, too! TVGuide.com caught up with Daniel Dae Kim to find out what the final seven episodes hold for the fates of the castaways, including whether Sun or Jin is the important candidate whom UnLocke (Terry O'Quinn) is looking for. Spoiler alert: It could be neither of them!

TVGuide.com: Sun and Jin are not married, but still running away together in the alternate universe. Is this sideways timeline more similar than we originally thought?
Dae Kim:
As we saw from last night, there are certain similarities and certain big differences. In a way, the big question for me is: Why? I think we're going to discover that each character has something that is unexpected in their lives off the island and we're trying to figure out the source of it.

TVGuide.com: Will Sun and Jin ever be reunited on the island?
Dae Kim:
I hope so. I kind of feel like Sun and Jin, in some ways, are the heart of this show. I think people are really looking forward to a reunion, but Keamy said in last night's episode, "Some people are not meant to be together." So it's a tough call.

TVGuide.com: Since Sun has forgotten to speak English. When they're reunited, will Jin be her translator?
Dae Kim:
That would be ironic. [Laughs] It would be a one-eighty ...

TVGuide.com: There's a big, obvious question in that only one of them is important because only one of them can be a candidate. What will we see come of that?
Dae Kim:
I don't mean to make things more complicated, but it could also mean their daughter can be a candidate. Kwon is the last name for all three of them. It's difficult to say. It may be that all three of them are candidates, but it doesn't necessarily mean any of them will end up being the new Jacob.

TVGuide.com: Does their daughter play an integral part in the next few episodes?
Dae Kim:
She is a factor. She has to be accounted for.

TVGuide.com: Jin used to be infertile, but Sun is pregnant in the alternate universe. Will that be addressed?
Dae Kim:
Absolutely. It will be addressed. There's more to Sun and Jin's story in the alternate reality.

TVGuide.com: Jin is now involved in Charles Widmore's plan. How is Jin able to help with "The Package," that is Desmond (Henry Ian Cusick)?
Dae Kim:
Widmore is trying to recruit anyone and everyone that he can. The fact that Jin and Desmond know one another and can help unite each other against the same enemy, I think, is important.

TVGuide.com: Widmore's plan seems to be that he wants to keep everyone on the island now.
Dae Kim:
Yeah, I think the writers are doing such a really good job on keeping him ambiguous and the real idea of who's good and who's bad on the island. It's a reflection of how things are in real life; it's not so black and white. Whose motives are going to allow the castaways to survive? I'm not sure. It's a fine balance.

TVGuide.com: Will the submarine hold the fates of several characters?
Dae Kim:
Ahh, that can very well be. I can say that the tension on the island continues. Death is definitely a part of their experience on the island for the past six years. As the stakes get higher and people align themselves with different sides, it's natural. Locke pretty much declared war in Tuesday's episode, so there are always causalities.

TVGuide.com: Because you're nearly finished shooting, what is the feeling like on the set?
Dae Kim:
The other day, when we were on set all together, there was this feeling like what I got when I graduated high school. We still had to go to school, there was still work to be done, but we knew that we were going to be leaving soon. We could appreciate and enjoy each other's company because we knew it would be coming to a close. It was a really light-hearted tone and the day went fast.

TVGuide.com: What can you say to fans who have griped about the sideways universe in regards to the finale?
Dae Kim:
As long as I can remember, there has been a small and vocal population of fans that have been unhappy with the show; this season is no exception. To that I'll say that the landscape and characters and story lines and plot that our writers have put together is so labyrinth-y, I give the writers so much credit for being able to address the questions, but also do it in a compelling way. In the grand scheme of themes they're trying to address, the majority of those questions will be answered by the end of the series.

Latest from Kristin - March 24th

More Four-Play: Just what you wanted (no?) a new four letter word that will be revealed in two weeks which is very important. If you want to play along, here goes: This word has no A's, one E, and as of episode 11 it will be clear that this four-letter word is what this series is ultimately all about. It's also the word that just might end up connecting the two worlds (the island and the Flash-Sideways Los Angeles) we've been seeing all season long.

Scoop on next week's episode:

- There's a reveal about Jin and Sun that will shock you. They are *o* *a*****!
- We'll see Daniel Dae Kim shirtless. (You're welcome, Josh Holloway, who lobbied for that. And you're welcome, world.)
- Fake Locke reveals what they need to leave the island.
- We learn that a female Lostie is "expendable."
- There will be a "package."

Yunjin Kim with NY Mag

Here is part of an interview with NY Mag.

The last time we saw Sun in the flash sideways, she was going through customs. The customs agent called Sun by her maiden name, Paik. Jin and Sun aren't married in the flash sideways?
They do have a very different relationship. Let's just put it that way.

That's a very cryptic answer ...
The hardest thing about being on this show ... You get excited about talking about a certain circumstance, then you realize you weren't supposed to talk about it. Or you're so guarded not to give anything away, you're not completely open. Today I have to do the interview for our final DVD interview and I thought, Why can't I do this after I've read the finale so I can finally know what I'm talking about.

We saw Jin at customs, and then we saw him last week tied up in the back room of a kitchen.
Right, that's not the sequence. You'll see what happens in between in the Jin and Sun episode.

"Kwon" appears written on the cave as a possible candidate to protect the island. Let's assume it is Sun and not Jin, she would be the only woman on the list. Is this a job she even wants?
Well, if Sun does become the candidate, I think she's definitely representing [laughs], being the only woman on the list. And I think it will be a very peaceful island. I think Sun will protect the island but share it at the same time, not keep other people away from the island. I think she'll have a very different take on how she protects it and shares the island.

Are we ever going to see Jin and Sun reunited?
I know, it's been so long. It will happen, but not quite the way I think the viewers would expect.

Getting LOST with TV Guide

Here is this week's Getting LOST with TV Guide.

Episode 6x02 LA X - Scene by Scene Details

Episode 6x02 LA X - Scene by Scene Details - These are spoilers for the SECOND Hour of tonight's premiere.

MAJOR SPOILERS - DO NOT VIEW UNLESS YOU WANT TO REALLY BE SPOILED

The first scene detailed below is about Sun and Jin

Secrets From the Set

Thanks to Iceman, Flyer and John for the heads up.

1. Under Pressure: “I don’t think ‘panic’ is the right word,” says Damon Lindelof of co-writing the highly anticipated premiere with fellow executive producer Carlton Cuse, “but it was like, ‘How do we do this?’” The producers have said that time traveling through the ’70s is history, as are the show’s traditional flashback/flash-forward narrative structures. “We haven’t [told the story] like this before,” Lindelof says. “It’s like, ‘Are we gonna be able to pull it off?’” Daniel Dae Kim, who plays Jin, believes they have. “I knew it would be something inventive because that’s how this show rolls,” he says. “But we’ve definitely increased our scope.” His three words to describe his reaction to the first episode? “Intrigued. Excited. Curious.”

2. All About Character: For all of Lost’s elaborate and feverishly dissected mythology, the series has always been, at its core, a character drama — and that won’t change. “The final season is really when you’re going to learn what these characters’ destinies are,” says Cuse. Expect man of faith Locke (Terry O’Quinn) — or whoever he is now — to prove a central figure, along with man of science Dr. Jack Shephard. “About midway through [the season], Jack will absolutely know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that his whole life has brought him to this point in time,” Matthew Fox says of his tortured character, “and that he is meant to do something very, very important.”

3. About That Mythology: SPOILER ALERT! In the two-hour premiere, one of Lost’s biggest mysteries — one that’s been rattling around since the pilot no less — is fleshed out. (Got goosebumps yet?) How about this? “We might be seeing Hurley’s guitar case in some way again,” says Jorge Garcia, who plays the lottery winner. What’s more, one character’s first line of dialogue in the season-opener was actually handed to fans way back in July at Comic-Con. Let the theorizing begin!

4. Sun’s Safe House: Lost quickly earned a reputation for a willingness to kill off main characters, including Boone, Charlie, Mr. Eko, and Michael. This season, it doesn’t take long to realize that more names will be added to the list. Yunjin Kim, who plays subservient wife-turned-revenge-seeker Sun, may be the only one who’s not worried. “Back at the end of season two, I said, ‘I bought a condo [in Hawaii] and if I get killed off, you’re going to have to buy it from me,’” Kim says of a conversation with producers. “Carlton was like, ‘Well, we’re never going kill you off.’ I was joking but it didn’t seem like he was.”

5. Lost Stars Are Still Lost: “No actor has been given the full blueprint of what the ending of the show is,” Cuse says. “And no one’s asked us either.” That doesn’t mean the actors don’t have ideas about their character’s fates. Dae Kim hopes his is integral to the show’s final conflict — whatver it may be — while his onscreen wife hopes Sun doesn’t get her happy ending: “I would be really disappointed if we wound up being a happily married couple,” she says. She’s not the only one who thinks love is overrated. After five seasons of love triangle-ing over Kate (Evangeline Lily), neither Sawyer or Jack seems sold on winding up with the feisty fugitive. “Jack and Kate have always cared deeply for each other but [their] circumstances may be too much for that relationship to ever really have a chance,” says Fox. Josh Holloway is more blunt: “Sawyer and Kate have a love that is undeniable but maybe it must be denied.”

6. She’s Back: That would be Emilie de Ravin, who returns full-time playing Aaron’s (dead?) baby mama Claire after being M.I.A. in season 5. “I didn’t watch the show at all while I was gone,” she says. She has a good excuse: de Ravin was busy shooting last July’s Public Enemies with Johnny Depp and the upcoming Remember Me with Robert Pattinson. But what can she tell us about Claire’s hiatus? “It’s in a very unexpected scenario,” she says, choosing her words carefully, “and she’s not quite the same.” Does that also apply to Charlie (Dominic Monaghan) and Boone (Ian Somerhalder), both of whom return for guest shots? Lips are sealed! But one thing is certain: off-screen, Holloway is a changed man. “I have become quite the lightweight [since becoming Dad to daughter Java Kumala last April],” Holloway reports. “Three beers and I’m, like, gone. It’s ridiculous! But it’s wonderful. Just being with the little one — that makes me feel intoxicated.”

Episode 6x10 - Filming Update - Mikhail Returns!

Episode 6x10 - Filming Update - Dec 13th

So in the alt reality, Jin and Sun and Sayid meet up with Keamy and Omar at the same location (a golf course) Sayid originally met K and O. Also, as we know, Mikhial is involved with K and O and seems to be the one calling the shots.
Because K, O and M all were bad guys who died on the Island, I have a sneaking suspision that they are the agents of MIB in the alt reality.

Latest Filming Updates and Photos - 10th Dec

Thanks to Misty for the heads up of this little report from one of our Forum Users.

Hurley was wearing his normal red tshirt and Alpert in dark clothing. The scene took place by a big tree in the middle of a jungly type area. I found them filming on the beach location the next day and was informed that in a couple days they will be doing a lightning scene there with pyrotechnics and that they also did a similar scene in the area I saw Richard and Hurley. The camp has been rebuilt with green palms, indicating that it as redone recently. The people that were filming on the beach were Ben, Kate, Jack, Hurley, Sun, Miles and Illana and they were all sitting around a campfire. Its an interesting combo hey!

There are some non-filming photos of the various sets here

New Filming Report and Photos

Earlier today we posted some photos from Ryan's report here. Thanks to DarkUFO reader Lostforeever we have a few more and this report.

I'm attaching some shots that I managed to snag from the same day as the fan from Ryan's blog (Monday Nov 2). They had been there all day, but the rain was affecting their shooting schedule. I actually went right into Sawyer's tent where Ben had previously been digging up something or burying something and it was covered with a fatigue looking tarp. If you look at the Ben-Ilana with gun pic, I'm in the background! How cool is that. Everything the fan said is correct, the only thing I would add is that there were 8 graves near Eko's church..don't know what that was, but they could be screwing with us! The crew were quite accommodating, but we stuck it out through the rain so they knew we were die-hard. I saw Miles, Frank, Ben, Ilana and Sun...but only Frank, Ben and Ilana actually shooting. As we were leaving, it looked like Sun had a scene coming up.
