ABC is being quite coy about tonight's Desmond-themed episode, "Happily Ever After." Are we in for something special tonight?
Like many other episodes this season, it's ... it's just a good reveal. The door creaks open a little bit further. Something in the mechanics of the narrative is going to make itself ... we're going to think about things differently — certainly about Desmond.
It's tough to answer those types of questions, isn't it?
One of the things I'm not going to miss is trying to decide what I can say and what I can't say about the show. It's going to be so great when the finale airs and then I can just talk freely about everything we did and what it all meant. But, honesty, I think the upcoming episode is a strong one and, like every other episode this season, it points us toward the end.

BREAKING NEWS: Michael Emerson Hurt on Set During Filming
The good news is he seems to be ok and that he is a part of the finale, but unfortunately he recieved a severe black eye during a fight scene.

Michael Emerson gets beat up a lot playing Ben Linus on Lost.
So much so that when friends recently saw the Emmy winner sporting a major bruise in Hawaii, they thought it was fake and possibly just some leftover makeup from a day of shooting.
But, no, it was real. What happened?
"He has a huge shiner on his right eye!" a source reports. "Apparently, he has a fight scene and the choreography when slightly awry. One of his costars actually connected with Michael's face and gave him a huge black eye."
You'd think the real-life injury would be incorporated into the Lost storyline, but our source said, "Michael joked that the makeup department now has to hide his black eye every day instead of creating one."

Spoiler Alert: Did we just uncover the identity of one of the impending casualties Michael Emerson told us about at the Lost premiere?
If we read between the lines of what Michael spilled Thursday night while accompanying his lovely wife, True Blood's Carrie Preston, to the Costume Designer's Guild Awards, one of the Losties we love watching best may be a goner. He also gave us the scoop on freaky-deaky alterna-Ben, the high school teacher...
"You'll see the biggest Ben episode ever in the next two weeks," says Michael, which first left us in a tizzy of excitement (come on, you know Ben episodes are always the best!). But it's what he tells us next that's cause for concern: "It's a big one, and it may be the last one of the Ben episodes...it's worth watching."
Now, you'll have to interpret his statement as you see fit, but as far as we can tell, this leaves us with two options: Ben is not long for both the real and/or sideways worlds, or Michael was simply referring to the decreasing number of Lost episodes remaining before the finale. And while the latter seems much more logical since this cast is full of lip-zipping pros, isn't there a teensy chance we just witnessed a rare occurrence in which one of the most beloved Losties around tricked us with such a straightforward response? Just a thought.
As for the new version of Ben we've yet to get to know, Michael promises that his brief introduction was not smoke and mirrors—this Ben is a great guy!
"There's more of that to come. That's Ben's flash-sideways, and I can't tell you if that's realer than the island existence that we already know of," he explains. "I haven't gotten it figured out yet."
What he has figured out is the way this guy works. "Think of it this way—he has all the same characteristics that Ben has, but they're in different quantities. He has some of the same urges or fantasies, but they're not as powerful with him," Michael tells us. Simply put: "He's more of a regular guy."
Does this regular guy become besties with one wheelchair-bound John Locke (Terry O'Quinn)?
"They have an important relationship," Michael teases with that deliciously devious little grin of his. "Yeah...friends," is all he'll say of their status.
What's your take on Michael's slick reveal—is it just wordplay or is Ben doomed? And how excited are you to see Locke and Ben all buddy-buddy?

After “NotLocke” (aka the Smoke Monster) orchestrated Jacob’s death, why didn’t he just turn around and kill Ben?
That’s a good question and I wondered it myself. But there is a reason why he can’t do that.
Does Ben suspect he has done a bad thing by killing Jacob?
I really don’t think Ben indulges in regrets. We’ve seen him make huge, possibly bad choices all through his life, but he just keeps moving forward. It may not be a good trait, but it is his.
We like to assign the trait of “good” to Jacob, in contrast to the apparently evil “Man in Black.” Yet Jacob, with his dismissive “What about you?” comment to Ben, came off as, well, a uncompassionate tool. Maybe he’s not quite as good as we believe?
That’s what I think, also – or at least his agenda is more complicated than we can know. It’s certainly not as simple as we thought. And yes, [Jacob] rather begs for his own death in a way.
With his dying breath, Jacob famously said to NotLocke, “They’re coming.” How long until we find out who “they” are?
It will be a while, unless I’m missing something. I’m not yet sure what that remark means. ['Lost' was filming its 13th episode at the time of this interview.]
Might we see Ben in the “flash-sideways” reality where Flight 815 arrived in Los Angeles safely?
Oh…. That’s a hard one to answer because these dimensions of time and space are… porous. And I think that’s about as much as I should say.

So you are filming right now? Is this an okay time to talk?
We were just shooting a scene with a huge explosion in it. They load all this wood and sawdust in these cannons and shoot them with a giant blast of smoke and stuff, and it just poured down on us, and we're all covered in sawdust.
How much more do you have left?
We are shooting the twelfth episode of eighteen, so there's six more episodes to shoot.
I imagine there isn't much you can even say about what is happening.
I know certain plot developments just because I've shot now more than ten episodes. But honestly, I don't think there are any actors on the show that would say they know what's going on or where we're heading. I thought when we filmed this final season, that I would be able to see the end coming, that things would begin to wrap up or the various threads of the story would begin to knit together. But the contrary has been true: the show just continues to tackle more and more new events. There's a whole new storytelling device at work this season. I can't tell where we're going, and how it will end is anybody's guess.
Does that make it more exciting to be there?
Yeah. It's just the way it always has been. We don't get scripts until usually the day before we shoot them, so we're always in the dark about what developments are coming. I won't say that there haven't been big resolutions of issues in the show. Bit by bit a bunch of stuff is falling into place and being explained. At the same time, new questions continue to arise. It's interesting.
What is it like to get the script each week? Are you just sitting there thinking "oh my god!"
You want to hurry up and read it because you want to see what you have to do. And you want to see if there's stunts or something terrible, or if your character does something terrible.
So what do you think fans should be thinking about as they approach this final season?
I think the passionate fans are going to bring to it what they've always brought to it, and that'll be appropriate. Lost will continue to do the things it's always done. There's no quantum change in the way we tell the story, but there are, like I say, amazing new developments and [an] additional narrative complication that is stunning, thought-provoking. It keeps expanding. It's like the universe, and it's always growing outward and larger. (Laughs)
Very cryptic. What do you think you will miss the least about doing this show?
Combat. Guns. The physical stuff. It's hard and you cannot avoid getting hurt.
So most of the remaining questions I have at this point are of the "are we going to see this again?" variety.
You will see characters that you thought were long gone. And you're going to start to see - already we're starting to have casualties. As we get closer to the end, I guess it's obvious that not everybody is going to get out of it alive. In fact, we were talking today because there's a shocking event in the episode we're filming, and it made us all think, "Oh wow, nobody's safe on this show." Who's next, and how many are going to drop every episode from now until the end. In different, shocking ways. Now I'm thinking, "wow, how close to the end will Ben get? Will he go all the way?"
I do have a few questions about Ben's backstory, still. For example, I've always been interested in an idea of a flashback to the Henry Gale days to see him get kidnapped again, to see if there was more happening there.
I used to hope that Ben's backstory would get fleshed out more. His childhood. I always hoped that the mass killing of the Dharma Initiative would be put in a new context. I always thought that we would find that someone else had survived the Dharma Initiative massacre, and that Ben was connected to them somehow. Remember there was a doll that Ben used to carry with him - a little carved wooden figure. And I always thought we're going to go there. We're going to explain that figure. But now, we're too close to the end. Some stuff just falls by the wayside, and it will be forever a tantalizing mystery. But I'm at peace with that. I don't think we are under any obligation to answer everything. Just to give satisfaction.

Short Interview with Michael Emerson

Having survived the experience again - this was his second win in four career nominations - Emerson returned to Hawaii in August to shoot the sixth and final season of "Lost." Episode 6x07 - Latest Set Report and Filming Update

An early morning Twitter post from local social media star Russ (a.k.a. @ParkRat) revealed the tell-tale presence of production trailers near Kahala Mall. It was a modest, interior shoot, so there were few details. But those few details are still worth pondering.
A visiting fan followed Russ’ clue to a residential street just off Kilauea Ave. All the magic was happening inside a plain looking home. But two actors were seen coming and going from the set: Michael Emerson (Ben) and Jon Gries (Roger Linus, Ben’s father). Later in the day, Tania Raymonde (Alex) was spotted.
There’s no telling exactly where and when the scene was set, but the visiting fan was able to overhear one tantalizing line of dialogue for Roger Linus, as referenced by the script supervisor:
“This is not the life I wanted for you, Ben.”
Whatever Ben’s been up to, mixing with students and teachers in a high school, it sounds like he’s still disappointing his dad.

Lost Season 6 - Filming Update and Photos - 3rd November
Thanks to Ryan for his latest filming report from the island.
This morning, “LOST” was spotted at Hawaii Medical Center East on Liliha St., otherwise known as St. Sebastian Hospital. The scene took place in the emergency room, and thus beyond prying eyes. But a group of nurses were a titter, having spotted Jack (Matthew Fox), Sayid (Naveen Andrews) and “his girlfriend” — presumably Nadia (Andrea Gabriel). As we’re beginning to see, even in a universe where Oceanic Flight 815 arrives safely in Los Angeles, our friends are inexplicably crossing paths.
And this afternoon, visiting fan “Daisy from Hazzard County” was among several visitors (including a group on a “LOST” tour) who happened upon a “LOST” shoot at Papailoa Beach (a.k.a. Police Beach), the main beach camp of several seasons past. Rain bursts made for a tricky shoot, but the crew persevered.
In the scene were Ben (Michael Emerson), Frank (Jeff Fahey), Ilana (Zuleikha Robinson), Miles (Ken Leung), and Sun (Yunjin Kim). In one scene, Frank was gathering wood and working in the sand, and in another, he was toting a gun. Then, it was Ben’s turns to dig around in the sand. Finally, Ilana had Ben at gunpoint, and marched him down the beach.

In years past, the “LOST” filming schedule would stretch to six days a week only occasionally, and usually as days run out toward the winter break or the season finale. But things for this final season seems to be especially intense, as we’ve already seen a few Saturday shoots even though we’re only a few weeks into production. And yesterday, two separate units were working on opposite sides of town.
The first shoot was in downtown Honolulu. “LOST” fan and HPU student “Alevermor” caught the set dressing crew at work off Alakea St., in the largely vacated back offices of Hawaiian Telcom, on Friday. A friendly crewmember told her that the Saturday morning shoot would be behind closed doors, but that Terry O’Quinn (Locke) was the scene’s central star.
So, the good news for Locke fans is that, in a sense, “old Locke” will return for Season 6. The bad news is that his life, once again, is not a particularly joyous one.
The second shoot was larger and more tantalizing, staged miles away at Waipahu High School. A large group of young extras were assembled (many accompanied by their fortunately talkative parents) to play high school students and a girls basketball team. There was much glee (including one fan who was giving a play-by-play over a cell phone to relatives in Pennsylvania) when the day’s key actors emerged from their respective trailers: Terry O’Quinn and Michael Emerson (Ben).
Terry O’Quinn was dressed smartly, in slacks and a dark purple plaid collared shirt. And Emerson was looking similarly snappy, wearing khaki pants and a dark sweater vest over a long-sleeved light blue dress shirt. He was also sporting fairly bookish glasses and a modest head of hair.
