Wendell in Tallahassee, Fla.: Lost scoop, please! Jorge Garcia told you a while ago that people will start "dropping like flies." Are there really going to be deaths? Who?
Yes, there will be. And no, you aren't gonna like it. I'm sniffling just thinking about what's to come as I write this! The deaths don't happen till closer to the very end, but there is a big shocker this week that is also very disturbing, involving a main Lostie's (a candidate's?) well-being. All that said, there's lots of awesome romantic stuff up ahead that will make your heart sing (honest! and it rocks), so fear not: They are candy-coating the pain with much more sugar than Mary Poppins' lame old spoonful.
Randy118: Kristin, are we to assume that Richard Alpert is not a candidate to replace Jacob? Why would Jacob entrust him to be his greatest ally/messenger but not make him a candidate?
According to Nestor Carbonell (Richard), we'll get those answers. "I can't say much," he tells me, "but clearly they're going to go into depth with that."
Marco in St. George, Utah: Sayid was always my favorite character on Lost. Is it possible we'll get some sort of a happy ending for him?
Not on the island. Sayid is officially soulless—and Lost fans around the world let out a collective cry. Ever since his centric episode, it's clear nothing good will come of Sayid's future, but he soon makes a declaration that seals the deal. Fortunately, evil Un-Locke considers Sayid's inability to feel anything a good thing, saying, "It'll help you get through what's coming." Dun-dun-dun.

Here is a breakdown of the Paley Center Panel with the LOST cast and crew.
Thanks to NoOne for the heads up and E! Online for the details.
NOTE: There are details of a sneak peek that was shown as well.
1. Jack's baby momma (mother of David Shephard in the flash-sideways world) IS somebody we've met before. Juliet? Kate? Sara? Hmm...
2. We probably will see Walt again. "[Malcolm David Kelley] absolutely would still be on the show," Carlton Cuse said, "but the actor aged." Damon Lindelof: "We are working on a way to bring Walt back before Lost is all said and done."
3. Damon: "Ilana and Richard will say things to each other and about each other in the future."
4. Terry O'Quinn is "playing a guy who we're not going to see until the finale." (Eeeee!)
5. Someone IS coming to the island.
6. Matthew Abbadon will not return.
7. We will get an answer to Libby and Hurley and their connection in the past.
8. Vincent will be back.
9. The finale is being written right now. Episode 15 was just shot this week in Hawaii.
10. Damon says there's no need for an island to have a Lost-themed ride at Disney World: "Just put people in a black room, spin them around and punch them in the face and tell them 'You just had the Lost experience.'"
11. Will we find out if there really was a bird on the island that said "Hurley" as it flew by? "That is on our list of things to explain."
12. When asked if we'll find out what happened to Annie, Ben's childhood sweetheart, Carlton says "We don't want to say. Probably not."
13. The gang's back together! While answering an unrelated Q, Terry O'Quinn mentioned: "A whole bunch of the cast is working together again."
14. There will be more for Charlie fans.
15. Alan Dale aka Charles Widmore will return.
16. Whether Jacob actually ever furnished a list of candidates to Ben or The Others is speculative...and might have been Ben lying to get the surgery from Jack.
17. A clip was shown for next week's episode in which Sayid says "apparently, I'm evil," Miles tells Sayid he was dead and says "Whatever brought you back it wasn't them (Temple people)," and Claire storms into the Temple telling Dogen that "He" wants to talk to him.
Check back later for exclusive interviews with the cast and producers of Lost, and Modern Family too.
In the meantime, what does this all mean for the very end? How does the whole cast come together again? Discuss!

Interview with Hiroyuki Sanada aka Dogen
Zap2it: Is "Lost" popular in Japan?
Sanada: Very much. I just came back from Tokyo last night. I did a big event with Carlton — talk shows, press conferences. We got a great reaction there. I was surprised at how big it is in Japan. There is a big audience for "Lost."
Zap2it: How many more episodes are you in this season?
Sanada: I can't tell you exactly how many, but I've already finished my shooting.
Zap2it: But you'll be in a few more, correct?
Sanada: A few more, yes.
Zap2it: What is your read on Dogen and his motivation?
Sanada: He grew up in Japan, and somehow he came to the island. He has a mission, which is studying the island. He's very — he has a lot of loyalty to the mission [and is willing] to sacrifice. I think that's the most important thing to him. And he knows something [laughs].
Zap2it: Do you have a sense of where Dogen fits into the hierarchy of the Others? Does he have any more authority than, say, Ben (Michael Emerson) or Richard (Nestor Carbonell)?
Sanada: I don't know if he's equal, or who knows more or is more important. But he's an important person on the island. Yeah, he's mysterious. [Laughs] He was mysterious for me, too. Every week I'd read the script and realize, "Oh — oh my gosh." I really enjoyed reading the script every week.
Zap2it: Do you think Dogen's view of Jack (Matthew Fox) changed after he was willing to swallow a poison pill in "What Kate Does"?
Sanada: Yes. ... I have many scenes with Jack, and also Sayid [Naveen Andrews]. The two of them are the most important people [to Dogen].
Zap2it: They're who you deal with the most?
Sanada: Yes. And they're great actors, so I was very lucky. I had a great time with them.
Zap2it: Do you know how long Dogen has been on the island?
Sanada: He's been living on the island for about 20 years.
Zap2it: And, without giving too much away, what can we look forward to with the character?
Sanada: It will be clear why he came to the island and what his mission is.

Episode 6x03 What Kate Does - What to Expect and Beyond!
Episode 6x03 What Kate Does - What to Expect and Beyond!
Next Week Will Blow You Away: After you see the final 10 minutes of next week's episode, it will become increasingly clear what the entire final season of Lost is leading up to. (I smell a war coming on!)
Get Ready for Two Surprising Reappearances: (1) A certain someone you thought was dead will be back, and how he or she returns, and what it means for the future of the other Losties on the island, will have your brain spinning. (2) Someone else appears in Los Angeles next week that I did not know was returning at all, and it's awesome.
There Will Be Some Shipper Moments Next Week: Kate will have a tender moment with Jack, and she'll also have a revealing moment with Sawyer, and there will definitely be some clear indication as to where the romantic storylines (or lack thereof) will be heading this season.
Richard Alpert Was a Slave?! The SMIB mentioned that Richard was in chains. There has long been talk that crew of the Black Rock (allegedly a mining vessel) were slaves, and when we've visited the ship in the past, skeletons were found shackled together. So was Alpert on the Black Rock? The good news is we will find out. Nestor Carbonell tells me: "You're going to get all your answers: Why doesn't he age? Where's he from? What his powers might be? Who he is? And there is one specific episode that deals with all of that. I was blown away by what they wrote." Can. Not. Wait.
Claire and Sayid Will Have Something in Common. Something big.

LOST Season 6 Filming Update and Set Pics
Thanks to DarkUFO reader John for the following report and photos.
Here on Oahu eagerly awaiting the premier event on Sat. The screen and stage area are currently being assembled.
Went strolling around the island to a few of the past filming locales and came across a set to be used for filming Friday. It's labeled as "Locke's Camp", part of episode 6-10, and is set in the banyon tree area near Turtle Bay on Oahu's north coast. Looks like a primitive campsite with many different shelter-structures and campfire areas. Attached are a few pics from the site.
In addition, went by the Lost studio and saw a scene being filmed directly on the parking lot featuring Sayid. he appeared to be on top of a deep shaft looking in and possibly chatting with someone(?). he was dressed in his typical island garb and we thought we may have seen a handgun in the scene. Through-in a picture of Dharma-ville just fo fun.
Will keep you posted

Do you ever get that feeling in the pit of your stomach that's basically a red alarm warning you not to do something?
Well, that's precisely the feeling I'm (stupidly?) ignoring right now as I cave in and give you highly vocal "Skaters," "Jaters" and "Sulieters" what you've been asking--no, begging--for since our 12 Days of Lost-mas began: Some sort of info as to where Lost's romantic storylines may be heading in the upcoming season.
So why is the red alarm going off? 'Cause this is highly volatile subject matter, people!
But you asked, so here we go. Don't shoot the messenger...
Six of these things are true:
Juliet survives the bomb.
Juliet does not survive the bomb.
Kate and Sawyer flirt.
Kate and Sawyer kiss.
Juliet and Sawyer kiss.
Jack and Sayid touch lips.
There is a scene with Sawyer in the season premiere that will make you cry buckets--assuming you aren't a robot--and (possibly?) make you Skaters happy.
Which one is false?

Sixth Day of LOST-Mas via Kristin - Life and Death

As we've already posted a while ago, the answers to Kristin's "spoilers" are 1) Sayid and 2) Charlie
Here is here post though:
We already know John Locke (Terry O'Quinn) is dead—and we are über-pissed at Ben Linus (Michael Emerson) for doing the deed—but could another Lostie be joining Locke very soon in the mysterious island show's ever-growing body count?
When Lost returns Feb. 2 to ABC, there are more than a few stomach-churning surprises in store, and our latest dish (as part of the 12 Days of Lost-mas) involves the life-or-death fates of two Losties we love.
Word of warning: This is the final season. So anyone can be killed off.
Read on for the dish...
According to my spies, the following statements are both true:
1) One Lostie we've known for a long time (a dark, handsome and mysterious someone) will die within the first four hours in the first shocking death of the year.
2) Another Lostie we've known and loved since day one of season one will come this close to dying—at his own hands—but the good doctor (Matthew Fox's Jack Shephard) will save him.
Who will die? Who will nearly take his own life?

Latest Lost Spoilers from Kristin - 23rd Dec
Thanks to NoOne for the heads up.
Oh, Sayid Jarrah, your hotness knows no bounds. Not to mention, you are a fan favorite. So they certainly can't be killing you (Naveen Andrews) off of Lost as early as the very first episode of the final season, right?
Maybe...maybe not.
Our 12 Days of Lost-mas continues with the latest gift: some brow-raising scoop on what's ahead for Sayid when the new season of Lost begins Feb. 2. It is a matter of life or death, so read at your own risk!
One of the following is true:
* Sayid dies.
* Sayid kills Jack.
Remember, when we last saw these Losties they were in 1977. Sayid had been shot and Jack (Matthew Fox) was near the site of the bomb that supposedly went kablooey and reset time.

Season 6
Dark,
You provided an excellent analysis of the hangman, but wanted to offer up a few of my thoughts since this is my final one and my last time really interacting with your readers.
First of all, congrats to all of you for solving so quickly. To address the people confused by the names used... it's to make it challenging and more accessible to those familiar with the show (obscure names and all). Those who think using full/mixed names is cheating, you can use puzzle-solving websites to help you, so I think we're even. A hangman that's easy to solve in a day with only one letter isn't much for for either of us. You were able beat the Christmas hangman before Christmas, so it's clear you can handle it.
A CHESS GAME IS AN APT ANALOGY AS WHITE AND BLACK MANIPULATE THE PAWNS. THE EYELINED ONE IS TORN, AS “SAMUEL” AIDS HIM, BUT FOR A PRICE.
The hangman offers up some specific things, but I also wanted it to highlight larger events and themes, not only of the season, but the series. The representation of light and dark were always meant to be part of the series, and become actual characters that represent the sides, but in the first line, the names Jacob or MIB aren't used because they aren't the only ones being referred to by "white" and "black."
The chess game is a nod to the Spanish trailer for season 6, but also to the importance of games in the series. Lots of games have been referenced throughout the series. Games must have players from different sides. And if one side has won, then the other side has...
ALDO, DOGEN, MARTIN, LENNON, AND OMAR ARE NOT LONG FOR THIS WORLD. SOME FALL TO A TRAINED SOLDIER WHILE OTHERS DISCOVER THEIR DARK SIDES FOR THE FIRST TIME. OTHERS THOUGHT GONE REAPPEAR, INCLUDING AN ATTENDANT AND TWO YOUNGSTERS.
Kudos to those who got the reference to Sayid from season 1. Dark sides being discovered doesn't just refer to taking a life or two... it also refers to the overall sides people join.
DISCOVERIES ARE MADE. JONATHAN ACCOMPANIED BY JIM FORD READ THE CRUCIAL WRITING ON THE WALL, LITERALLY. THE LATTER FROM ABOVE STUMBLES ONTO A MACABRE PILE, "KENDALL" AND A TRAP SPRUNG SEVERAL TIMES.
Jonathan = Locke. I know, I know... but you figured it out.
LANDING BRINGS MIXED BLESSINGS. CHRISTIAN'S A GRANDFATHER, A CHANCE ROMANTIC DATE ISN'T REALLY BY CHANCE AT ALL, AND ALTHOUGH MANY OLD FRIENDS CROSS PATHS, NORWOOD IS NOT TO BE A LOCKE NOR JAZEEM A JARRAH.
It was my fault with the Christian being a grandfather thing. Originally, it read "Christian's a grandfather.... again" Somehow, the "...again" part was swept away by accident and it wasn't realized until after it was solved.
AND SOMEWHERE, LITTLETON KILLS KATE...
The first letters revealed were selected in order to highlight this section and make people speculate rampantly before other letters were released. I know it was cruel, but isn't rampant speculation between episodes what this show is all about?
ALMOST. BUT WHOSE SIDE IS ANYONE REALLY ON?
Picking sides is obviously a clear theme throughout the recent seasons, but is especially important this season. Also... this has multiple meanings. I'll end with this: A side can refer to a team/group, but it can also refer to an actual area divided by something. What's something that can divide land on the island?
Glad people had fun. Happy nondenominational holiday to all.
P.S. There are several other references buried in here somewhere that'll make a lot more sense once season six has aired. I suggest rereading this after. Also, Hurley is the best character in the series.
