For some these are MAJOR SPOILERS
1) Those left on the island are having trouble starting fires, but they soon get all the fire they need when they're attacked by flaming arrows. This sends everyone scurrying into the jungle. Just when it seemed like there couldn't possibly be any other others...
2) The Oceanic 6 continue to be linked just as many of the passengers' lives were intertwined -- without them knowing it -- before the crash. Kate (Evangeline Lilly) and Hurley (Jorge Garcia) miss each other by minutes after visiting the same gas station. The Hurley and Sayid (Naveen Andrews) show continues with them now as fugitives (although Sayid spends most of that time unconscious) while Hurley spends most of it in a fantastic, and very yellow, T-shirt.
3) Sun (Yunjin Kim) knows a little something about a decision Kate made when they got off the island.
4) Nose bleeds, headaches and memory loss are back on the island -- at least for one character.
5) Hurley decides to follow some advice from Sayid and ends up making it harder to get the Oceanic 6 gang back together.
6) An omniscient and creepy shopkeeper from Season 3 returns. (I assume this is in reference to Ms. Hawking)
Episode 5x01/02 - EW Review by Doc Jensen

Hey All,
ABC has posted the first two episodes of Season 5 (two-hour premiere) of LOST on their media sites and over the last 24 hours new spoilers, tidbits and reviews are popping up everywhere.
Here is a new review from EW's Doc Jensen, that has some new details.
Enjoy!
EW's Review of LOST's Season 5 Premiere
Yesterday. 9:30 a.m. I was moments away from spending the day at Disneyland, the happiest place on Earth, when a certain EW colleague, whose name rhymes with Shmichael Slausiello, tipped me off that the first two episodes of Lost’s fifth season were now available to lucky media dorks like me for reviewing. Suddenly, the House of Mouse (and really, any other locale that wasn’t my laptop DVD player) was not the happiest place on Earth, but the most hellishly inconvenient. ARRRRGHHH! A long day of standing in life-stealing, long-ass lines became even more criminal and assish as I counted the minutes before I could rip into the most awesome of delayed Christmas presents. (Although I must say, The Pirates of the Carrbbean -- a masterpiece of experiential narrative on any other day -- was almost compelling enough to distract me from my furious angst. ALMOST.)
Finally, at 10 p.m. last night, with exhausted family passed out, I sat down and broke the seven-month Lost fast with the first two helpings of season 5. Both went down well, one more so than the other. A few thoughts in advance of a more thorough discussion to come, once the episodes air and we're all on the same page.
Lost’s tradition of opening the year with a killer, capture-the-imagination sequence is honored and upheld, though the thing I loved most was how it was brazenly frank (and engagingly funny) about the heady high-concept conceit that will define the season. Almost everything that followed that opening passage was pretty cool, too. Remember the non-linear structure of Pulp Fiction, which toggled between a number of storylines whose chronological relationship to each other is practically a puzzle for the audience to solve? Well, the season premiere is kinda like that. The first two episodes will have the audience — and the show’s characters — trying to make sense of shifts in time. They demand active engagement, and I found it to be a lot of fun. Especially the first hour.
Lots of Sawyer in the first two eps. Lots of his naked chest, too. Lots of Hurley, and as for his chest, it is covered...with a very funny T-shirt. Sayid also has mucho screen time in both episodes, though he sleeps his way through one of them. Literally. And Daniel Faraday emerges as a huge player in season 5. The eps are dotted with cameos and extended cameos from peripheral but important figures crucial to the Lost mythology and much-loved by the Lost fan community. A polarizing character from Lost’s past returns, earns some redemption by participating with wit and humility, and delivers one of the best lines of either episode. Once again, all things Ben just rock. And if you're familiar with the rather disturbing crush that Doc Jensen happens to have on a certain rarely-seen Lost someone, then you can imagine how I swooned when I saw her re-appear at long last in the second episode.
In short, it was worth the wait, and certainly the perfect tonic for a day at Disneyland. I can't wait to see if you agree -- or disagree -- with me when Lost premieres on Jan. 21. In the meantime, tell me: What are you most looking forward to seeing in season 5? What are your burning questions? Let me know...because I'll be able to soon answer them for you, in the most unexpected of ways...

Hey Lostiesand Spoiler Lovers,
So finally we seemed to have gotten some solid confirmation on some On-Island action. The previous set reports seemed to have focus on some of the off-island Losties, including Sayid and Hurley, but today we have two reports from two different sources about Locke and Alpert filming several action packed scenes in the jungle.
Apparently the currently filming is connected to the Nigerian Drig plane and Locke's stunt double was climbing a Banyan Tree in one scene while Alpert and Locke were being chased in another scene.
Who could be after Locke and Alpert now!?
Well here are the reports and enjoy:
Me and my wife watched as both Terry O'quinn and Nestor Carbonell ran from armed men. This was episode 5.03 according to the crew. Someone on set said that the scene they filmed previously was the set up to the shooting and chase and that involved Locke and Alpert running across the island to a rock formation with a square in it from a previous season. The guard said the Alpert character retrieves some sort of device on the way to the rock formation and he uses this device along with the rock formation with the hole in it to discover what year it is. Can you tell me what season this rock formation is in because we are clueless about that?

Thanks to Sarah for the heads up
I'm not sure which episode they were filming this week but a friend of mine who works at Waimea Falls Park told me this story about the filming going on there this week.
She saw Locke in a big banyan tree. He was in some type of stunt harness and was up in the tree facing the tree trunk. It looked like he was trying to climb the tree. And here's the good part...he gets shot in his upper thigh. She saw Locke's stunt double get into the harness at some point too.
Nestor Carbonal was on set too but she couldn't verify that he did the shooting.
Also, there was a small Cessna type crashed plane at the same set very close by.

Here is the latest casting call for Season 5. It is an interesting casting call as it describes the character as someone who likes to live outdoors and "off the land". Additionally it describes the character as loyal, but someone who would "comprise with the enemy".
The fact the character might be willing to sacrifice to protect his men makes me feel that he might even lose his life for his men. Of course the descriptions should not necessarily be taken literally.
Also do not forget, the other potential spoilers for these episodes about a connection to some British characters and possibly the Black Rock.
So what do you all think!? Is this new character connected to Dharma or the others on island!? A off-island character!? One of Widmore's men!?
[CUNNINGHAM] Mid-20s to Early 30s. Any ethnicity. Athletic, used to living outdoors and off the land. He is a loyal soldier but willing to compromise with the enemy to protect his men...VERY NICE CO-STAR. THIS ROLE IS INTRODUCED IN 502 AND HAS 3 SCENES IN 503.

Hey Losties,
It seems like the LOST casting group is adding a couple of more characters for episode 2 for this season.
The earlier casting calls indicated two British characters for episode 2 and 3.
However, today's casting call is quite interesting because it is for two young female "Co-Stars". One of them "plays guitar in her own band" while the other is a "tomboy".
Now if this episode has some British flavor and we see a musically inclined character is this a connection to Charlie!? No it can't be right!? I have always felt the British love would be the Widmore storyline, but any thing is possible including as a DarkUFO reader suggested a potential Geronimo Jackson connection!?
What do you think!?
[DARLENE]
Early 20s, any ethnicity. A bored clerk who hates her sucky job and looks for any burst of excitement to get through the shift. Alternative in dress and style, plays guitar in her own band but needs the day job to pay the bills...CO-STAR.
[JILL]
Late 20s to late 30s; any ethnicity. A butcher who is one hard-as-nails cool chick. A tomboy, bit of a searcher, and highly competent beyond her station in life...CO-STAR.

As promised LOST Spoilers Season officially opened this week!!
The latest comes from our good friend SecretAgentMan (SAM) has provided us with some new casting information for Season 5 of LOST.
Two new characters will appear in the second and third episodes of the season, but both characters are British. Now the first thing that pops into mind are connections to possibly Desmond/Penny/Widmore storyline. Of course not necessarily, but I do hope we get more of that story.
What do you think!?
Thanks to LOST Perdidos for the heads up.
Appearing in #502 and #503 will be 'Nigel' and 'Sophie' (names likely will change). Nigel is British, in his late teens. Smart and mature for his age, if a little rough around the edges. Sophie is a British aristocrat in her late teens and appears quite innocent and a little prim, but underneath she is formidable.
