This has been the money Q since season one, and in case you didn't hear, there are quite a few "dead" former castmembers who will reappear for the highly anticipated final season: Dominic Monaghan, Rebecca Mader and Ian Somerhalder, just to name a few.
But here's something you don't know: A dead character also may "return" without us actually seeing the actor who plays him or her!
How?

According to insiders, Miles (Ken Leung)—who, remember, gets messages from the dead and not full-on visions/visits à la Hurley (Jorge Garcia)—may carry a message from a dead character on Lost in the upcoming season.
So who is it?
I can't say who—sorry, too spoilery—but I can tell you that this dead person's message is important.

Unexpected dish from 'Lost' creator Damon Lindelof falls like manna from heaven.
You never know when it's coming. When it does, you have all the answers you were seeking. Such was the case in Hollywood at Paramount's DVD launch party for 'Star Trek,' which Lindelof produced with his old 'Lost' friend J.J. Abrams.
"We have written 112 episodes, with about 9 more to go. We have come this far, so just trying not to screw it up," Lindelof told AOL at the 'Star Trek' event. "We really want the focus in the last year to be on the original castaways that we have been following since the beginning. But that doesn't mean there won't be a couple new flavors in the mélange. There are a couple new faces, but not as many as there have been in past seasons."
Those new faces will include John Hawkes (of 'Deadwood' and 'Eastbound and Down') as Lennon, a scruffy and charismatic foreign corporate spokesperson, and a cunning negotiator, wielding more influence than someone in his position should. They also include Sheila Kelley, best known from 'LA Law,' as Kendall, an intellectual beauty with a sharp edge to her wit who is caught committing corporate espionage and has to lie her way out.
A variety of several former cast members -- including Ian Somerhalder, Dominic Monaghan and Elizabeth Mitchell – have been confirmed to make return appearances.
"Obviously, we have 18 hours over which to do the ending. I feel we have found the right pace," Lindelof continued. "You only have so much room in your stomach to eat, and you have to digest sometimes too. So we're trying to modulate the season so it doesn't feel like you're waiting, getting little meals, then you get one big meal. It's a flow of courses. You will probably get a little more than you were expecting a little sooner than you were expecting."
Since 'Lost's' premiere in 2004, the show has gone through five seasons of metaphors, islands sinking, smoke monsters, The Others, and walking dead men. Its final season begins reportedly in January. Now that the end is here, it feels "amazing," Lindelof says.
"I can't believe we're going to be able to end the show on our own terms," he says. "To be able to cancel something yourself is a rare treat in the TV biz. And there are no excuses. We get to do the ending on our own terms, and hopefully people will like it."
More 'Lost' dish came from Lindelof to other outlets:

Online: "The questions that count will be answered, and the questions that the fans don't want answered won't be answered, but I think what they're looking for is a real sense of resolution, particularly on a character level. Who's going to live, who's going to die, who's going to hook up with who, why were they all brought here in the first place, was it arbitrary, is there meaning behind it? That's the kind of stuff [we] have to answer, or [we] should be prepared to get rocks thrown at [us]."
To TV Guide Magazine: "All I can say is that we've spent the last five years answering the question, 'Were you guys making it up as you go along?' 'Do you know what you're doing?' It's a great comfort to know that in about six months people will stop asking us that question. They'll basically say 'You were making it up as you go along,' or they'll go 'Wow, you really had a plan.'"
Lindelof also said: "What we don't want to do ... is explain what our intention was. At a certain point, it doesn't matter what our intention was, and we want the fans to vigorously debate certain aspects of the show. Some things will be very conclusive, other things people will think are more conclusive than we meant them and some will be more ambiguous than we meant them, but it wouldn't be Lost if five years from now people weren't still arguing over what they wanted it to be."

Latest Season 6 Details and Casting Information
Sooo here are the latest tidbits from EW about returning characters and some tidbits of what to expect in Season 6. The only real new casting tidbit is a return of Cynthia Watros aka Libby!
Also note and not posted here is that LOST Producers Damon and Carlton have convinced ABC NOT to show ANY new footage before the new season!?!? Oh boy...I guess we need to create our own with spoilers!!

LOST Season 6 Casting Confirmations from Comic Con
Among all of the wonderful information from Comic Con, there were a few confirmed casting tidbits for Season 6 of LOST.
1) Nestor Carbonell (Richard Alpert) - Nestor has been confirmed as a series regular. So expect to see more of Richard all throughout season 6. Additionally, Damon and Carlton said that we would get his backstory, not sure if it is a Flashback or not, but we will finally learn about Richard and his eyeliner!
2) Ian Sommerhalder (Boone) - Although he was at Comic Con to promote his new show The Vampire Diaries, Sommerhalder confirmed that he is planning to appear in Season 6 and that he has informed the producers of his new show. He did not say how for many episodes or reveal any other info, just that he will appear.
3) Dominic Monaghan (Charlie) - Dom of course made his not so surprise visit to the Flash Forward panel, but then made another no too surprising but very exciting appearance at the end of the LOST panel, with the words "Am I Alive" written on his hand!! No one confirmed a return but it is pretty obvious he is back in some form.
4) As far as all the other rumored cast members there was no confirmation, but the Season 6 Banner, revealed most of the original cast along side the current cast Maggie Grace's character Shannon.
Along with that art and Darlton confirming that we will indeed see characters that we have not seen since Season 1, I would say Maggie is one of those folks that will appear again.

Will any of the "dead" Losties be back for season five?
A recent promo sure seemed to show Jack's creepy daddy Christian (John Terry) mingling among the Left Behinders. So...will we see him again? What about Claire (Emilie de Ravin)? And fan favorite Charlie (Dominic)?
I've got the word from Lost boss Damon Lindelof himself on the status of Christian, as well as exclusive insight from Dom and inside sources on Claire and Charlie's whereabouts...
In case you missed the chat, there is much discussion about the figure visible at the 2:10 mark. Is that dead Dr. Christian Shephard in the ABC promo video? Check out the screengrab to see for yourself.
Could Christian really be in the Island camp, running from flaming arrows with the Left Behinders? I was so curious about this wild possibility that I emailed Damon Lindelof to find out, and he tells me exclusively, "No. It's not Christian. John Terry is gonna be in the show this season, but he was definitely nowhere near Hawaii when we shot that stuff."
(Note to Damon: That really does look like John Terry in the promo...You might want to make sure the guy isn't haunting your set in his free time! Maybe he digs the craft services?)

I just chatted up Dominic on the set of Chuck (he guest stars in the big 3-D episode) and asked if he could shed any light on Claire's whereabouts. (He is her Wonderwall, after all!) Is she dead? Alive? Floating in some weird Island netherworld?
"I have been keeping up on her," he says, "and I wonder if the world of Lost allows dead people to come back easier than it would be here. I think to a certain extent they wanted to find something for Claire to do outside of grieving over Charlie, and I think they thought, well if we take her away and essentially if we were to bring her back, there would be some drive to her story."
Inside sources connected to the show tell me that Emilie de Ravin is not slated as a series regular for the upcoming fifth season, but we will see her again.
As for Charlie Pace himself, could he return, definitely dead though he is?
Dom tells me he recently had lunch with Damon and they talked about just that. He tells me, "As we were paying the bill, I said, 'Let's talk about Charlie.' And we had a five-minute, very accelerated conversation where I said, this is how I would feel about coming back. These are the things that I really like about Charlie and ideas for Charlie. And Damon said, 'OK, that's great. I'll go away and I'll chew on that.' Damon has to deal with not only the arc in the story for the entire show but also all the characters. He might not have space for me to come back, but if there is space, then we talked about how it would work."
Who wouldn't want more of rock-god ghost Charlie?
Besides killer aviator sunglasses, what would Dom like to see happen in Charlie's return? He says of Charlie's legendary death scene, "I'd always been very complimentary toward Damon's writing in that moment, in the sense that he really gave Charlie a great preciousness and dealt with him with dignity, you know. I think other people have died in ways that maybe weren't quite as dignified. Charlie was really taken care of and I really appreciated that...But really, if [the return were] not something as precious as Charlie's arc in his death, then I might not do it. I wouldn't come back for just a little hello in the background. It would have to be an interesting story, an interesting arc. Something that really moves the story."
Fair enough, right? In case you haven't heard, Lost returns to ABC for season five on Wed., Jan. 21.

LOST Episode 4x10 Something Nice Back Home is a Jack centric flash forward and previous set photos and spoilers reveal that he actually makes a trip back to Santa Rosa (Hurley's Mental Institute).
Well according to the report below, Dominic Monaghan is scheduled to appear in this episode, so it looks like Charlie's ghost returns!!

Episode 4x09 and 4x10 - Filming Updates
As we all know LOST is currently on a 5 week hiatus, but filming and production for the final 5 episodes of Season 4 is in full swing. Over the last week we have posted several set photos and reports for episode 4x09 The Shape of Things to Come and we hope to have more spoilers for the remaining episodes soon.

4.09 - The Shape of Things To Come
Ryan in Hawaii (The Transmission) let me know that filming wrapped today on Police Beach. This means we will see the beachies, as well as camp Locke.
There are some rumors from a reputable source that GI Jack (aka Through the Looking Glass Jack) was in action. Is The Shape of Things To Come a multi-character flash forward? (Ryan's info does not corroborate this rumor.)
Locations used for The Shape of Things to Come: Papailoa (Police Beach AKA Camp Jack), Camp Erdman (Otherton, Camp Locke), Heeia Kea (The forested valley where Karl was shot), Honolulu Community College (Iraq), and Diamond Head for the Otherton interiors and anything secret they may have filmed. Altogether they filmed two solid days on the Iraq set, and another day for pick ups. Definitely enough footage to cover the flash segment, throwing the GI Jack rumor under the shadow of doubt. Dominic Monaghan suggested that 4.10 is a Kate Centric episode.
4.10 Is being shot tomorrow(ish) and there is a TON of interior shooting going on at Diamond Head Studio (thanks, Ryan, again.) I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that 4.10 is going to show us the interior of "The Orchid." But that's nothing more than a guess at this point.
BEYOND: There is a nasty nasty rumor floating around that there will NOT be a Sawyer centric episode this season. That just doesn't seem right.

4.09 - The Shape of Things To ComeRyan in Hawaii (The Transmission) let me know that filming wrapped today on Police Beach. This means we will see the beachies, as well as camp Locke.
There are some rumors from a reputable source that GI Jack (aka Through the Looking Glass Jack) was in action. Is The Shape of Things To Come a multi-character flash forward? (Ryan's info does not corroborate this rumor.)
